Justin+Jenny | Terre Haute Indiana Wedding Photographer

You might remember Justin and Jenny from THIS engagement session!  They booked me over a year in advance. Just shows me they love me. :) You will love them too! Take a look at their wedding! Enjoy the view!

Most memorable moment - forgetting the order of events during the ceremony and walking down the aisle to Justin

First Dance- I'll Be by Edwin McCain
Father Daughter Dance- You are my sunshine

Mother Son Dance - My wish, Rascal Flatts

Last Dance - GOOD RIDDANCE (TIME OF YOUR LIFE), Greenday

In 5 years we want to have our first child!

In 10 we want to be in a lovely home with two children and jobs within our career fields!

My advice to brides: It's really hard to stay calm but it's much better to stay positive and calm on your wedding day so you remember it that way....don't be like me and look back at pictures and think "hmm you can't tell was was suppper mad right then!"

p.s. Jenny, I don't think you look mad! I think you look beautiful!

Much Love!!

FRIDAY'S Q&A | Terre Haute Indiana Wedding Photographer

Who is your favorite photographer?

Well, It’s a husband and wife team. Bobbi + Mike. I love love love them. I actually got the chance to see them at WPPI in Vegas this past February. It was the first show I pre-boarded for!! Check them out at http://www.bobbiandmike.com/ They are also from Indiana!

Favorite Color?

Red. And sometimes shades of orange.

What is your least favorite part about a wedding?

Leaving and the drive time home.

What is the best food at weddings?

Chicken. And awesome chicken, not just the plain baked but where they add stuff to it.. like lemon sauce or stuff it with stuff..yum. I also reallllly love Carrot cake.

As a portrait photographer myself, how did you branch off into wedding photography? It is something I have been wanting to try out.

I actually just got asked by a friend to shoot her friends wedding back in 2007..(are you lost yet?) And I feel in love with the idea. I don't know if it was because they were extremely good to me or that it was a 'hippie' themed wedding but I had a wonderful time and have been loving wedding photography since then! I would maybe suggest finding a photographer you like and maybe seeing if they have any second shooter opportunities for you!

If you could say ONE thing I should look for in any professionals of my wedding what would it be?

Look for people who have the same personality as you.  It will be a nice fit, I promise. A good way to find out? Give ‘em a call, set up a meeting, read up reviews, email them, any form of contact!!!

Thanks for all the questions! IF you have a question for me email me at billie@billiebushphotography.com and I may answer it on my blog!!

FRIDAY Q&A! | Terre Haute Indiana Wedding Photographer

I am starting a new blog section on Q&A's! I get a lot of interesting questions weekly so now I am going to give my blog readers/clients a chance for their question to be featured and others can read! :) (don't worry I am not including names)  I hope this will be a fun chance for us to get to know each other!!

Here we go.....!

What is the best free online website for editing pictures?

I think the best free editing software is a download. It is called Paint Dot Net (Paint.net) you can get it at http://www.download.com/. It is free and has similar qualities as the older photoshops! If you want to learn how to process photos to enhance them, then this is the way to go!

Where is the best place to buy cheap backdrops?

Although I am not really into studio photography that much, There are a few sites I would try when looking for cheap backdrops. Depending on what *type* of backdrop you want you could try the following:

http://www.backdropoutlet.com/  I have ordered from them before but they are extremely slow.
http://www.amazon.com/ along with http://www.ebay.com/  you are ALWAYS going to find cheaper deals on these sites instead of paying retail!
http://www.facebook.com/PhotoPropFloorsandBackdrops has vinyl floors and backdrops!

Now, If you are just starting out and looking for cheap way to get some backdrops try your local fabric stores!! White and Black fleece is best when getting black and white backdrops from a fabric store!! Very cheap as well. If you are into newborns the fabric store is always a must!! Check yours out! You might find a gem in the clearance section!

What is your favorite moment while doing engagement sessions?

When they laugh. I love to see the way they interact with each other! Usually when people laugh they bend forward or the bend backward. This combo makes for great photos. :) It helps that I am funny! ok... maybe just a little funny??

Alright... I have my moments!

What have been your proudest moments, both in your professional and personal life?

In my personal life it has to be getting married and having my kids.. I know, How cliche... But seriously. My family is everything to me and they always will come first in my life. :) Second to that when my oldest started kindergarten. I felt like "I did it. I helped him grow into a little man" Nothing feels better than knowing that your children are 'good' children. They learn from you. It's a great 'real' job I have. :)
In my professional life I would say my proudest moment was booking my first wedding at full price. It made me feel awesome that someone was willing to pay for me even if it was full price!! It's nice to feel you are wanted or needed no matter the cost!

How do you start a meeting off with a bride and groom?

I set up a phone call or an email for a meeting location. I arrive before they do (nobody wants a late photographer!)  I introduce myself and then ask them what they are wanting in their wedding. What are their expectations of me? What is their price range? I talk a lot (for those of you who do not know me) So it's easy for me to make them comfortable. From there we talk about it all and sometimes stuff wayyy off topic. I am sorry to all the grooms that had to listen to the bride and me talk about Britney Spears or the Latest Chick flick that's out.. :)

Well That's it for this weeks FRIDAY Q&A!  If I didn't get to your question please try next week! I accept questions all week long. Make sure you make your subject Q&A so I know I can post your question on the blog!!  Thanks for reading!!

Much Love!

Jason+Vanessa | Terre Haute IN Wedding Photographer

I can not say how much fun I had at this wedding! These two were so easy going it really made my day more play and less work! By the way, They got married in the same church I did, just a little fun fact! Here is a little preview of their day! Enjoy the view!

One of my favorites!

My (Vanessa) favorite moment was smearing cake on Jason's face!..... and him smearing it back on me with his face. I didn't expect it and never thought he would do something like that!

First dance was Roll with it by :  Easton Corbin

Father/Daughter Dance: A Song For My Daughter by Ray Allaire

Mother/Son Dance: My Wish by Rascal Flatts

Where will you be in 5years? 10 years?
In 5 years I see us still as a military family, enjoying every moment with our two kids and making the most out of every moment we have with each other.
In 10 years only time will tell. I know we will be together as a family up for any challange life throws our way.

A little advice for future brides: I will give the same advice every former bride gave me. Don't stress! What's done is done, you can't change it and the only person that is going to know something wasn't done is you. Relax, enjoy your day, It will be over so fast and all you will have are the memories. Make sure they are good ones!
